Leigh-Chantelle
is a singer/songwriter from Brisbane, Australia who describes
her music as folk-pop. She draws inspiration from a wide variety
of influences that contributes to her original sound, including
such classic singer/songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks,
to newer artists like Dar Williams, Fiona Apple, Ani DiFranco
and Natalie Merchant.
Leigh-Chantelle has an extensive catalogue
of original compositions, five of which appear on her debut EP
entitled Inspiration Relocation independently released through
Fanatic Records March 2002.
Leigh-Chantelle's EP showcases her emotive vocals and sensitive lyrics along with her acoustic guitar playing that together inspire with their
honest delivery. Leigh-Chantelle found her voice at an early age
and continues to develop and explore new directions in song writing,
in particular writing with various friends and other musicians.
Inspiration Relocation was recorded, produced,
engineered and mixed by Andrew Polzin for Bombsquad Productions
in December 2001.
Leigh-Chantelle wrote the lyrics and music for
all songs, with Angela Turner, Ben Gill and Jaffe adding their
musical skills to track Falling.
Leigh-Chantelle sang and played
acoustic guitar for all the songs.
Jaffe played electric and additional
acoustic guitar parts. Ben Gill (from Brisbane bands Malevolence
and Fear of Beautiful Women) played bass guitar, Angela Turner
played grand piano and Andrew Polzin played extra bass and guitar
parts as well as all the drum programming.
Benjamin Tupas designed the cd booklet and layout
as well as took all the photos.
